Last week, it was reported that the signup bonus on the Chase Ink card had increased to 70,000 points. The only catch with this increased 70,000 point offer is that you had to apply in branch. From what I have read, it is not clear whether or not the annual fee would be waived the first year (last time the Chase Ink bonus was increased in-branch, the annual fee was NOT waived)
If you do want to sign up online or don’t have a branch near you, the best offer I have is for 60,000 points as a signup bonus (affiliate link)
Getting the increased bonus
Chase has been pretty good at matching bonuses, and I was hopeful that this time should be no different. I recently applied for the Chase Ink a few months ago with “only” the 60,000 bonus
I applied for the Chase Ink Plus before the Chase 5/24 rule supposedly went into effect for business cards (in April), though there have been reports that the 5/24 rule is not always applied uniformly.
Miles to Memories reminded me about the 70k offer and mentioned that he had been successful in getting a match on his account, so I sent off a secure message through Chase’s site. Result, a day or so later…
You’re a valued customer and we appreciate the opportunity to serve your credit needs. We’ll be glad to add the additional 10,000 bonus points to your account. In order for us to do so, please reply to this email once your account has met the spending goal of $5,000.00 within the first three months from the account open date.
You had an original offer on your account for 60,000 points after you spend $5,000.00 on the first three months from account open date. We will post that to your account automatically after you’ve met the spending goal.
Cha-ching! Not as good as getting the 10,000 points immediately, but still a useful reminder if you have applied for the Chase Ink card recently!
