If you’ve been waiting for a good time to snag a new Delta Air Lines credit card, and missed these cards, NOW is really the time to apply! Currently we’re seeing the highest bonus offers available on both the Amex Gold Delta SkyMiles® Card and the Amex Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Card, and decent bonuses on some of the other cards. Let’s dive in and see what you can expect if you decide to sign up for one of these cards!

There are 4 different varieties of Delta cards
- Gold Delta SkyMiles® Card
- Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Card
- Delta Reserve® Credit Card
- Blue Delta SkyMiles® Card
Each of those except the Blue card also has an associated business card, making 7 in total. Remember, you are limited to one signup bonus per lifetime with American Express, but all 7 of these count as different cards, so you should be able to get a signup bonus on all 7 of those cards (but probably not all at once :-D)
Let’s take a look at the 7 different American Express Delta credit cards
Amex Gold Delta SkyMiles® Card
Right now, if you sign up for the Amex Gold Delta SkyMiles® Card, you’ll receive 60,000 SkyMiles – 50,000 after spending $2,000 within the first three months and another 10,000 after spending an additional $1000 in the first six months of opening the card. This is slightly different than the offer last month but essentially the same: 60,000 Skymiles after $3000 in spend.
In addition to the bonus miles, you’ll also earn:
- A $50 statement credit when you make a purchase with Delta Air Lines within the first four months
- 2 points per dollar on Delta purchases, 1 point per dollar everywhere else
- Priority boarding
- Free first checked bag for you and up to nine people on your reservation
- No foreign transaction fees
- $95 annual fee, waived in the first year of card ownership
Remember, AMEX cards have a “one bonus per lifetime” on their cards, so if you’ve had this card before, you’re probably out of luck, unless you’re me!

If you’re a less than frequent traveler and want to avoid the annual fee in the first year, the Amex Gold Delta SkyMiles® Card might be the right choice for you!
Amex Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Card
Right now, if you sign up for the Amex Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Card, you’ll receive 70,000 SkyMiles and 10,000 MEDALLION® QUALIFICATION MILES (MQMs) after spending $3,000 within the first three months of opening the card.
In addition to the bonus miles, you’ll also earn:
- A $100 statement credit when you make a purchase with Delta Air Lines within the first four months
- 2 points per dollar on Delta purchases, 1 point per dollar everywhere else
- Discounted Delta Sky Club access
- Priority boarding
- Free first checked bag for you and up to nine people on your reservation
- No foreign transaction fees
- $195 annual fee, NOT waived in the first year of card ownership
The Amex Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Card also comes with ANNUAL MILES BOOST®, which earns you 10,000 (MQMs) and 10,000 bonus miles after you spend $25,000 on purchases on your Card in a calendar year. You’ll earn an additional 10,000 MQMs and an additional 10,000 bonus miles after you spend $50,000 on eligible purchases on your Platinum Delta SkyMiles Card in a calendar year.
Like above, AMEX cards have a “one bonus per lifetime” on their cards, so if you’ve had this card before, you’re probably out of luck.
If you’re a more frequent traveler and feel that the benefits of this card outweigh the $195 annual fee, the Amex Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Card might be the right choice for you!
Delta Reserve® Credit Card
The offer on the Delta Reserve card is 40,000 bonus miles and 10,000 MQMs. It also has a $450 annual fee and offers Delta Sky Club membership. This would definitely be for the hard core Delta flyer. For casual flyers, I would recommend the Gold or Platinum card above.
Blue Delta SkyMiles® Card
The Blue Delta SkyMiles® Card has the same signup bonus it had when it was introduced a few weeks ago – 10,000 bonus Skymiles after spending $500 in the first 3 months and no ongoing annual fee. Business cards
The business cards for the Gold, Platinum and Reserve brands have exactly the same offers as their personal counterparts (60,000, 70,000 and 40,000 Skymiles), and are available under business cards on our top credit card offers page
Our take
The card that’s right for you (if any!) depends on your circumstances and how much you value Skymiles. Because American Express limits you to one signup bonus per lifetime, you do want to wait and apply when the bonuses are at all time highs (which they are now). So if you’ve been waiting to apply for Delta cards to replenish your stack of Skymiles, now would be a good time to consider it.
My general rule of thumb would be that casual Delta fliers would be best off with the Gold card, followed by Platinum and then Reserve depending on how much you value the MQMs. The Blue card would be one I would personally hold off on and wait for a potentially higher signup bonus down the road.
