There’s a new offer from Amex where you can earn additional Amex Membership Reward points.
What’s the deal
- Earn two additional Membership Rewards points per dollar spent (a total of 3 points)
- Use an eligible American Express Card enrolled in the Membership Rewards program
- Use Amex Express Checkout at participating merchants (see image below)
- This promotion is through May 17, 2018.

Amex Express Checkout is the fast and secure way for tens of millions of American Express Card Members to check out at participating online merchants by using their existing American Express account login credentials, instead of manually adding their personal information into the checkout experience.

We’re seeing a trend here with Amex, Paypal, Visa/Mastercard and Chase pushing for these payment platforms. Chase has been pushing the use of Chase Pay with their cards and had increased the incentives in using Chase Pay. Now, here’s Amex promoting Amex Express Checkout. This gives us, Amex and Chase customers, more opportunities to earn points with their programs.
I, myself, have used Chase Pay and PayPal many times. I’ve seen Amex Express Checkout as an option but since there was no incentive for me to use it, I plainly ignored that option. Now that there’s a promo with earning additional reward points, I’ll be more inclined to use it in the future.
