New Delta Skymiles 70K offer (but with a twist)

We’ve written before about the different American Express Delta credit cards.  There are 7 different cards – The Delta Reserve card, and then personal and business versions for the Blue, Gold and Platinum cards.  While the personal and business versions of a given card are very similar, there is a wide difference in benefits between the different families of cards

The welcome offers on these cards vary quite a bit, and since you’re only able to get one welcome offer on any American Express card per lifetime, it makes sense to wait and apply for these cards when they’re at their all-time high welcome offer.  The Gold and Platinum versions are the ones that are most common for most users and 70,000 Skymiles is about as high an offer as I’ve seen

New Delta Skymiles 70k offer on the Platinum card

I just saw that there is a new Delta Skymiles 70k offer on the business version of the Delta Platinum card. You can see the details on this card along with other cards here. But here are the basic details

  • 35,000 bonus Skymiles AND 5,000 MQMs after spending $1000 on the card in the first 3 months
  • Earn 5 miles per dollar during the first 6 months of having the card, up to a total of 35,000 MORE Skymiles
  • Earn a $100 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase in the first 3 months
  • Check your first bag for free, get Priority Boarding and 20% off in-flight purchases
  • Annual fee of $195

The 70K Delta offer with a twist

As you can see, it is possible to get 70,000 Skymiles with this offer, but it requires $7,000 in spending in the first 6 months of the card (since the 2nd 35,000 Skymiles comes at 5 miles per dollar for the first 6 months).  This isn’t quite as high as past offers we’ve seen – the absolute best I’ve seen has been 70,000 Skymiles and 10,000 MQMs for $3,000 in spend.

Still, if you’ve been looking for a way to top off your Delta mileage balances this new offer surely beats the 30,000 or 40,000 Skymiles welcome offers that we’ve seen lately. This current offer expires July 31st

Again, you can see the details on this card along with other cards here – I may receive a commission if you’re approved for a card with this link.  As always, thank you for your support if you choose to apply for cards through my link
