Last week I wrote about a trio of hotel credit card options that were at record highs. The SPG Amex card offers have ended (both cards are back down to a signup bonus only 25,000 points as far as I can tell), but the Citi Hilton HHonors card offer at 75,000 points is still currently available (though some reports have it ending later today – 4/1)
Record highs on the American Express Hilton HHonors cards
There are 2 additional offers on the American Express versions of the Hilton HHonors cards that are also now at record highs. First is the Hilton 100,000 point offer on the Surpass card. This signup bonus of 100,000 Hilton HHonors points is an all-time high (the annual fee of $75 is not waived the first year). I got this card a few months ago when the signup bonus was “only” 85,000 Hilton points
Another nice benefit of this card is that gives Hilton HHonors Gold status, which I think is the best mid-tier hotel status out there.
Also, the “regular” Hilton HHonors card has an increased signup bonus of 75,000 Hilton HHonors points (normally 60,000). There is no annual fee on this card, which comes with Silver status (which is not worth much).
Remember that according to the current best practices and rules of churning, American Express will only let you get a signup bonus ONCE per lifetime on a particular card. So if you’re going to sign up for one, you’ll want to make sure and sign up when it is at its highest level.
Here are application links for all 3 Hilton HHonors cards (again, the Citi offer is supposedly ending today). Please note that if you are approved for a card by clicking through this link, I will receive a commission.
